Coming from a background in theoretical physics and mathematics, I’m now trying to understand the mechanisms behind emergence of structure in
complex systems. How do local dynamics produce global patterns?
Which details matter, and which can be ignored or approximated by noise, when we try to model the world?
Currently I’m investigating how the dynamics of agent-based models change, when the agents are equipped with observable, but fundamentally meaningless badges.
